On Feb. 9th, a man was hit by a car at a Citgo gas station in Dorchester. When the car struck him, it pinned him up against the post he had been standing by. Witnesses called the Boston fire officials to report the incident, which took place on Morrissey Boulevard at around 11:30 am. These officials reported that the man was struck by the car from behind. This left the man trapped between the post and another vehicle. He was immediately transported to the hospital and the most severe damage was to his leg.
A Hazmat crew had to respond to the scene as well due to the activation of the station’s overhead fire extinguishing system. The system kicked in because of the post’s impact against it. This left the station covered in a white powder that disperses when the system comes on.
